forest floor familiar

in deep parts of the wood, from the side opening of a good sized hollow tree, you see him wake. he stretches, careful not to disturb his mosses and lichens and blinks out at the day.
he dons his travel terrariums and trundles off to discover more flora in the last evening light that casts it's beams down to darkening mossy beds and rooted pathways. 
he travels light, glass bottles clinking gently and he looks for whatever piques his interest. after this trip he may slumber a good long while, his mushrooms don't travel well. but he can always find his way home by following the trail of glittering spores his family of fungus leaves behind him.

will you ask him to join your journey? he is well travelled but enjoys long bouts in one place, years at a time even. he would tell you of the rocks he has met, the laugh of the leaves before they are shed, the long family history of mycological friends, and he makes a wonderful cup of tea...


handmade from a personal pattern from start to finish with many hand done details such as 3D embroidery, individually sewn on glass beads and crystals. unique garnet beads, labradorite chunks, mother of pearl buttons, as well as adorable corked glass bottles with tiny polymer clay flowers and rocks, hobby grass, and moss on a metal chain.
metallic embroidery thread glistens on edges and the feet have a sturdy armature for stability. The feet are gently poseable to offer more stability.
the eyes are a lightly metallic spring green which gives them a fresh glowy look.

this sculpture is entirely hand stitched.

it measures 15.5cm tall and is made from wool felt.

it can be spot cleaned with lukewarm water but should never be immersed or have detergents or bleach used on it.
