forest familiar-field moth

preferring to rest on things that are fresh and new to offer them guidance in each new cycle, she flutters on with purpose and intention. 
her dusty wings coated in sunshine and the colours of fresh buds and wide spaces, she lives on the edge of the forest.  her days are filled with visits to each new sign of growth and emergence, surveying the meadows and fields that make up the rolling terrain before the trees start in earnest. the open air and the full view give her a sense of calm, but she can always retreat to the cover of the forest for support when needed. that's what it's there for. 
her days are quiet and serene, she dips onto a pink clover bud to take a sip of morning dew before taking off again, today is crisp and the new season is going to be riotous with colour.


this sculpture is entirely hand stitched from wool felt and polyester fuzz.
each glass bead is hand stitched in.
it has a pin backing so it can be worn,

from wingtip to wingtip this moth is 6 3/4 inches

it can be spot cleaned with lukewarm water but should never be immersed or have detergents or bleach used on it.
